There are several signs that indicate that you need a chimney repair.

• Leaking If there is any leaking down by the fireplace it usually indicates a problem in the chimney or chimney flue.
• Blockages If you don't notice smoke coming out of the top of the chimney while the fireplace is in use, there may be something blocking the chimney. It can be a rodent or bird or weeds growing inside the chimney flue.
•  Missing Bricks If there are missing bricks on the outside of the chimney it usually indicates a bigger internal masonry problem.
• Rusted, Crumbling, or no Crown The chimney damper, chimney cover, and chimney crown are all designed to guard your chimney from the outside elements.

When a chimney repair is needed, it must be taken care of immediately. A problem with the chimney can lead to a chimney fire.
